Bunk Bed Plans

Looking for Bunk Bed Plans?

Safety should be your first consideration. I am sure you will agree that every other decision is less of a priority. After making sure a bunk bed plan is safe, make sure that the plans give you enough instruction to complete the project. Some plans are only a drawing or a few scant pages with lots of fancy cutting and milling involved.

Speaking of safety; years ago we got into this business because we had a set of bunk beds that collapsed during the night with two of our six children in them. There were no injuries but it was a close-call. We set out to build a better bunk bed that was safe, sturdy and looked nice. After manufacturing such beds for years, we began selling the plans. Honestly, if you build these bunks according to the instructions, they will not collapse. If you have doubts about the amount of weight that they can hold, take a look at our sturdy bunk bed plans page. You will see a picture from our mall store that has 5 grown-ups on the top of one of our stackable beds. We weighed 650 lbs easily and the structure could have held quite a bit more.

Free Bunk Bed Plans are usually worth what you pay for them and they rarely, if ever, meet the safety requirements that the US government has imposed on manufacturers to prevent injuries. Some of the paid plans fall short of these safety requirements. These laws are contained in the in the CPSC Code of Federal Regulations. All of our plans meet and exceed these guidelines.

Do we think that you can build your own bunk bed? We hear this a lot. That depends on your determination. If you can operate a circular saw to make straight cuts accross a board and drill holes with an electric drill and sand with sandpaper, then I say yes, you can. Take a look at an inspiring and completely unsolicited letter from a customer named Christie, who built two triple bunk bed plans (and they look great!).

You probably can build a bunk bed. You need a plan to help you build the bed that suits your needs. We have many plans to choose from for building different types of bunks. Whether you are looking for a standard bunk, a twin over full, an L-shape, a Triple Bunk Plan or a Quadruple bunkbed, we have can help!

Oh, did we mention that we offer free support on our toll-free number? We have built many beds using these plans.
