Full Size Loft Bed Plans

This is a project plan that details how to build a Loft Bed full-sized. The assembled bed measures 66 1/2" in height, by 57 1/2" wide, by 81" long and has 48 inches of clearance beneath. You will need a full size mattress for this bed. For mattress measurements, please see our mattress definitions page. You have four feet of space below the bed to put anything from a play area to storage.  If you are need to put a desk below with room to sit, see the loft bed full size tall model page.

This bed is not difficult to build and it takes little skill. The ability to make straight cuts on a board, drill and sand is about all that you need. The tools that you need to build this project are a circular saw, an electric drill and a power sander. In addition, you need a few bits for drilling and screwing. You can build it using non-power tools if you care to. We have built many beds just like this and they are very durable. Look at the sturdy bunk and loft bed plans page. We have five people on one bed.

If you choose to get hardware from us, you will get our black-plated lags that give the bed a professional appearance as well as industrial assembly screws. Our screws are very hard and do not break or snap like drywall screws. We price the hardware kit as close to the prices that you would find at a local dealer and we include free shipping to all of the United States. The lags that we sell in the kit are much nicer looking than the common plated variety from the store.

We have provided the materials list from the plans below so that you can price the project and make a good decision. You can save hundreds of dollars building your own loft bed plans. This plan also provides easy instructions for conversion to a Full Size Bunk Bed Plan.

If you start the building project today and order your hardware kit, we ship fast enough that you will in all likelihood get the hardware before you need it.

    free plans are worthless

Posted by Chad on 24th Mar 2012

BTW I googled for a few hours and even found some nice looking projects BUT I couldn't find anything that was laid out as cleanly and as useable as what your plans provide. That is why after two days of searching I bought your plans. Remember there are a lot of "Free" plans on the web for Loft beds too but having used your plans as a "non" woodworker I will always look on your site first.

    Modify plans for queen bed

Posted by Angela Teitsort on 24th Mar 2012

I purchased your plans and hardware kit and made modifications for a queen size bed! I was seeking to build a queen size loft bed for my teenager and your plans were very easy to modify.
